Upcoming Presentations

Mr. Grabo has the following presentations coming up.

Tuesday, October 24 at 10:00- 1/2 hour zoom presentation from Enriched Learning on SmartMoney: How to Save, Spend and Succeed.  Learning Objectives covered: understanding inflation, assets vs liabilities, the importance of money knowledge, investing in yourself, and action steps for financial success; this will be in my classroom. 

Thursday, October 26 from 9-11- a representative from Canada Revenue Agency will be presenting on Youth Income Tax Basic, Benefits, and Credits.  Learning objectives covered will be: what is the tax system, government body that oversees taxes, the tax season, how to file, how tax returns are calculated, where to go to get taxes done for free, and tax credits when you are 19 years old. 

Tuesday October 24- I will be doing a presentation on writing a resume and cover letter from 11-12 in my classroom for anyone who is interested. 

Wednesday October 25, 2023 1 PM- For those interested in the trades, RAP Program, career internships; I have Kati-Ann Garrett and Tessa Jones from Careers the Next Generation coming for a presentation on .  Careers  brings together industry, schools, government, and communities to guide youth into successful career paths.

Together with school partners they are motivating students by making the workplace an extension of the classroom, preparing them for a future where they are in-demand! They will be going over what Careers is, how they can help students in this process, the application process and how the Student Portal works for them.
