Work Experience in Summer School
Earn High School Credits This Summer with Work Experience!
To Lacombe Outreach School Parents and Students,
We're excited to share an incredible opportunity for students to earn valuable high school credits while gaining practical experience! Students can earn up to 15 high school credits by working in a paid or volunteer position. The other vast benefits include: opportunities to explore various career interests, discover their aptitudes in meaningful work activities, encourages essential employability skills, contributes to personal growth, encourages maturity, responsibility, independence; and helps students build on their resume and references
Work Experience can help bridge the gap between academic learning and the demands of the real world. It gives them the opportunity to build practical skills and essential personal attributes that will help them in future endeavors.
How Does it Work?
Work Experience allows you to turn your summer job or volunteer position into a learning opportunity. The credits you earn are based on the number of hours you work. For example, you can earn 1 credit for every 25 hours worked, up to a maximum of 15 credits (375 hours).
Summer Work Experience: Don't Miss Out!
If you're planning on working this summer through July and August, you have the chance to earn credits for that work! To receive credits for your summer employment, you must sign up for the Work Experience program beforehand.
How to Register
If you are planning to work this summer and would like to register for Work Experience, please notify Mr. Grabo by June 13th. He will provide you with all the necessary information and forms to get started.
This is a wonderful chance to get a head start on your high school credits while gaining real-world experience. We encourage all eligible students to take advantage of this program.
Sincerely,
Mr. Desmond Grabo
